With a combination of style, V-8 performance and affordability, Chevrolet hit the motoring trifecta with its 1955-57 lineup. The hot ones were a hit in their time, and the midcentury milestones became enduring American classics collectively known as Tri-Fives. The result of a rotisserie restoration, this 1956 Chevrolet 150 drives on with a custom combination of high-performance enhancements and premium appointments.
The shoebox Chevy is powered by a ZZ383 V-8 crate engine (one of only 500 produced) equipped with dual 4-barrel carburetors on an Air Gap intake manifold and MSD ignition. The mighty mouse churns a Bowtie 700R4 overdrive transmission with a 2,600 RPM extreme-duty torque converter, and a Currie/Ford 9-inch HD rear end with a Detroit Locker and 3.50 gears puts the power down to the pavement. Power steering and power disc brakes join forces for improved road control.
Two-tone burgundy and silver paint and top-of-the-line Bel Air trim accents signature two-door sedan style, and wraparound tinted glass filters unwanted glare from the custom cabin. Bucket seats and a center shift console, Vintage Air climate control and power windows offer living room comfort. The restored and modified Tri-Five rolls on custom Billet Specialties wheels and BF Goodrich tires for maximum grip and a traditional raked-forward stance
