This 1980 Pontiac Trans Am is an Indianapolis 500 Pace Car edition and is one of 5,700 examples produced in 1980 to commemorate the first Trans AM to pace the Indianapolis 500. This official pace car retains its original drivetrain including the matching-numbers turbocharged 4.9-liter V8 engine and 3-speed automatic transmission. All pace cars were identically equipped with Cameo White exteriors, gray graphics, and Hobnail Cloth/Doeskin vinyl interiors. Options included the WS6 Special Performance Handling package with 4-wheel disc brakes, 3.08:1 Safe-T-Track rear axle, turbo alloy wheels painted in white with 225/70R15 raised white letter radial tires. Other highlights include air conditioning, power windows, AM/FM radio with power antennas, removable silver tinted T-top panels, cruise control, special embroidered interior, tilt column, leather formula steering wheel with special horn button, and red backlit instrumentation. This Trans Am received one professional exterior repaint in its original color of Cameo White and new graphics kit. The original BFGoodrich space-saver spare tire remains unused, and the jack and tire inflator all present inside the trunk. The sale includes PHS documentation with a copy of the sales invoice and a letter from Pontiac to dealers announcing the Indy Pace Car package and ordering information. Financing available for up to twelve-year terms, on approved credit. While we do safety inspections and make in house repairs, all classic vehicles are sold strictly in ''AS-IS'' condition. In addition, all vehicles displayed miles either on websites or odometers are considered to be Non-Actual, unless expressly documented otherwise. All buyers are encouraged to have third party inspections done before taking delivery. It is the responsibility of the buyer to conduct any inspections and examination necessary to satisfy himself of all material facts before making any offers. All sales will be final.
